Mahatma Gandhi’s signature in eleven scripts (from top):
Devanagari, Roman, Gujarati, Persian, Tamil, Old Kanarese, Malayalam, Telugu, Old Kanarese, Bengali, Oriya. The signatures where done by Gandhi on request of his hostess at Mumbai, Smt. Sumati Morarjee, in June 1944 to be used in the biography by D.G. Tendulkar and Vithalbhai Jhaveri, titled Mahatma. Below is the symbol of the lotus feet, which is a metaphor for the divine feet of the gods, saints and other exalted spiritual beings.
